Mother returns eye to cabinet, tucks eye in drawer, closes eye by closing drawer. Sans eye the sisters are blind.

Blindness triggers sudden, shocking, blindingly emotional shapeshifting.

Death <blind rage>:

… you … would not … dare …

Love <blind hilarity>: … you could not let go our eye! … fortunate sister, you should not! …

Fortune <blind consequences>: eye will … eye shall, Love … a child must see her mother or she remains forever a child … i do not simply hand over the eye … a child must look of her own volition … a child must look for the eye before she may look with the eye

Love <giggles>: … whew! not to worry then! … your orphan will never find the eye! what with all the artifacts crammed into our cabinets! …

Death <smolders, approaches combustion point>:

... cursed … be … the … womb …

chaos, static, noise

Fortune <resumes Primordial voice; adds to the discord of raving Death and blubbering Clever>:

…EYE IS HERE FOR THE FINDING …

Clever spins inside blue seas. Round about her hoves a library of glass fronted cabinets — each one fitted with drawers, shelves, slotted compartments, bins and baskets, boxes, lockers, hinged chests and hidden pockets — each one crowded with curiosities, exotica, and dusty specimens from the wide world. It is said that the turning of the Wheel manufactures nature. It is further said that the original form or cast of every natural thing is stored in this repository. Some call the sisters caretakers. Some call the sisters hoarders.

Clever (abrupt blue silence; small curious voice): Mama? What’s here? What’s to find?

Fortune... the cabinets, child … search the cabinets … look for the eye … only then you may look with the eye
